A beautiful 2007 Gigondas; the Pierre Amadieu Romane Machotte is dark purple in the glass with enticing spicy aromas of blackberries and raspberries. It coats your mouth with just the right amount of sweetness and astringency to be interesting, and finishes long and mouth-wateringly chewy. Yum!Find it on wine-searcher.com
I had the good fortune to visit Gigondas early this fall/autumn. I was very impressed by the quality of the 2007 wines; expect to see more reviews here soon as we uncork some of the trip's bounty!
